THE RAGDOLL BREED

Ragdolls began with a white Persian Angora type female named Josephine, bred by a Burmese type male Daddy Warbucks. I believe Daddy Warbucks was Josephine's son, his father unknown.Since the original Ragdolls did not come from pure bred cats, varied patterns and personalities do occur.

All Ragdolls have blue eyes. Most are lovable, playful, talkative, and curious. My cats love to watch what goes on outside, but never try to go out. They like for us to throw toys so they can play fetch.

PATTERNS

Colorpoint

Darker color on face, ears, feet, nose, paw pads and tail. A Colorpoint has no white.

Mitted

Same as a colorpoint only with white mittens on the front feet and white boots on the back legs. They also have a white chin, ruff, and stomach. May have blaze on nose.

BiColor

Darker color on their ears, face, and tail. White inverted V in their mask, white legs, feet, ruff, and stomach. Nose and paw pads are pink.

COLORS

Tortie

3 colors like a Calico - it can appear on any of the patterns.

Seal

Brown to black points.

Blue

Various shades of Blue (gray) points.

Red

Creme to Red points.
